Today we are going to make vegan pizza delight. I am referring to it as “pizza delight”, as its name is enough to water our mouths.
Pizza is an Italian-origin dish but loved by all age groups. In pizza, the topping possibilities are endless.
There are plenty of ways to get creative. You can even go for a pizza loaded with veggies, or make it very simple with vegan cheese, herbs and spices, and pizza sauce.
Along with veggies, you can adjust the crust thickness too.
Our recipe is customizable as per your taste and desire.
To make the easiest and best homemade pizza, all you need to have
Ingredients
For pizza dough
- 4 cups All-Purpose Flour (can take bread flour)
- 3 tsp Sugar
- 2 ¼ tsp Active yeast
- 1 ½ cup Lukewarm Water
- 3 tbsp Olive Oil and some more to grease the bowl
- ¼ tsp Garlic Powder
- 1 tsp Salt
- ½ tsp dried oregano or other herbs
For Pizza Toppings
- ½ cup each red, green, and orange bell pepper (loosely chopped)
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1/3 cup red onion (chopped)
- 1 cup white mushrooms (chopped)
- ½ cup olives
other sliced veggies of choice
- ½ tsp each dried or fresh basil, oregano, and garlic powder or Italian seasonings
- ¼ tsp sea salt
- Vegan mozzarella cheese (as per your desire)
- Vegan cheddar cheese (as per your desire)
Method:
Prepare pizza dough
- In a small mixing bowl, whisk active yeast, sugar, and lukewarm water. Set aside for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In another bowl add the flour, garlic powder, dried herbs and salt. Make a well in the center of the flour to add the yeast mixture and oil.
- Mix with a wooden spoon to bring them together.
- Transfer the dough onto a floured surface and hand knead for 5 minutes, until smooth, elastic, and not sticky.
*If too sticky, add a little more flour one tablespoon at a time. If too dry, add a teaspoon of water at a time.
- The dough is ready to raise when you poke it with your finger, and it slowly bounces back. If not, keep kneading and adjust the flour and water to get the consistency.
- Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover with a piece of plastic wrap and a clean kitchen towel on top. Leave the bowl in a warm place or in a preheated oven for about 45 minutes to 1 hour or until the dough puffs and has doubled in size.
Prepare Veggies:
- Meantime, prepare veggies for pizza topping.
- Heat a large frying pan. Once hot, add 1 tbsp olive oil, onion and all peppers. Season with salt, and herbs and stir. Cook until soft.
- Add the mushrooms and olives in the last few minutes. Set aside.
Assemble pizza
- After an hour, remove the dough from the bowl and knead again on a floured surface for about 2 minutes, adding flour if too sticky.
- Use a bit of flour to spread the dough to make a pizza base. Spread it depending on how thick or thin you want the crust to be.
- Keep the edges thicker than the centre.
- Spread the desired amount of pizza sauce on the crust. Distribute the prepared veggies evenly.
- Sprinkle the vegan mozzarella cheese and vegan cheddar cheese in the desired amount.
- Bake for 17-20 minutes or until crisp and golden brown.
- Sprinkle dried or fresh basil, oregano, or Italian seasonings and serve it.
