Step 1: On a dry pan, roast the walnuts lightly till they become fragrant. Allow them to cool off entirely.

Step 2: In a blender, put in your roasted walnuts, yogurt, green chilies, ginger, and salt. Blend it till you get the consistency you like. If you want it thinner, add water little by little.

Step 3: Oil should be heated in a small frying pan. Mustard seeds may be added and they will start to splutter. Dried red chilies along with curry leaves can also be added.

Step 4: Pour the tempering over the chutney. Stir it well.
